BIO

I was born and raised in Iceland and currently reside in Hafnarfjörður, a small harbor village in the capital area of Iceland. I live with my wife, our two children, and cats. I hold an MA degree in Sociology, and my research revolves around disability, microaggression, sexuality, pleasure, and shame.

From a young age, I have been actively involved in activism in Iceland. Among other things, I played a role in establishing the first Independent Living Center in Iceland and at the age of 21, I served as its chair from 2011 to 2014. In 2014, I co-founded the feminist disability movement Tabú with my dear friend and colleague, Freyja Haraldsdóttir.

For the past few years, I have shifted my focus towards performance arts. I currently perform as a dancer, burlesque performer, and occasionally engage in Improv just for the fun of it. In 2023, I was nominated for Gríman (the Icelandic theatre awards) as the "dancer of the year" for my burlesque performance in the show Góða ferð inn í gömul sár.
